Epilepsy

It is a condition in which a person has recurrent seizures due to a chronic underlying process. Theory behind epilepsy is that during seizures, large groups of neurons are activated repetitively and hypersyncronously and failure of inhibitory synaptic contact between neurons. Causes for epilepsy are injury, poisoning, cerebral anoxia, helminthic manifestation, cerebral tumors etc. Symptoms are brief loss of consciousness with or without loss of postural control, uncontrollable jerking movement of the arms and legs, body stiffening and shaking, biting of tongue etc.
Treatment includes some medicines like Calcarea Carbonica, Bufo Rana, Cupurum Metallicum, Oenanthe Crocata, Kali Brom, Causticum etc. which help in managing the symptoms of epilepsy.
